The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Regional Director, you will be working with existing customers as well as developing new relationships, all ranging from End Users, OEM’s, Machine Builders through to Service/System Integrators. You will engage with multiple levels of their organizations from Purchasers, Maintenance staff, Plant and Operations Managers to meet and exceed their expectations.
As a Technical Sales Representative, you will actively pursue new projects, present new and existing customers with technology relevant to their needs and develop partnership-based relationships with those you serve, becoming an invaluable resource to your customers.
What We’re Looking For
You are a technically inclined sales professional who possesses a minimum of 5-8 years experience selling technical products and strong knowledge of the Ontario regions. In addition to your excellent written and verbal communication skills, you have strong computer and Microsoft Office knowledge and experience working with CRM systems.
You have a thorough understanding of automation and robotic technology as it applies to an industrial manufacturing environment and are knowledgeable of manufacturers and distributors in your area. Ideally, a post-secondary education in a technology-related university or College program and/or related experiences.
What you will be doing:
- Develop variable frequency drive (VFD) business in the industrial, commercial, and institutional market.
- Increase regional sales & profitability by achieving the goals set forth by the Sales Management Team.
- Identify and solicit potential clients in Ontario .
- Consult with clients to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by and in accordance with all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental company policies and government legislation/regulations.
- Adhere to the Company’s Quality System operating procedures.
What we need from you:
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in VFD’s, motor controls or directly related Technical Sales environment.
- College/University graduates an asset however careful consideration will be given to prior experience.
- Proficient computer skills including familiarity with CRM’s.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of internal and external individuals.
- Demonstrate ability to work independently.
- Working knowledge of the English language, both written and oral.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and achieve targets.
- Professional, friendly, exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Provides service to both internal and external customers.
- Ability to travel within the province of Ontario.

While compensation packages are determined by such things as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $85,000 and $110,000 annually. Compensation is made up of salary, a Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) and benefits.
