What you will be doing:
The Manufacturing Engineer designs, implements, and optimizes manufacturing processes to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective production.
Responsible for developing and improving production processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Designing and implementing manufacturing processes and layouts to optimize workflow and equipment placement, including capacity vs. headcount model.
- Evaluating product design feasibility and providing recommendations for manufacturability.
- Analyzing production schedules, methods, and costs to support management decision-making.
- Coordinating with departments such as R&D, quality control, procurement, and assembly to ensure smooth production.
- Implementing automation, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement techniques to reduce waste and improve productivity.
- Conducting process validation, quality checks, and root-cause investigations to maintain high standards.
- Creating Incoming, In-process, and Outgoing control plans for both material and process flows, including:
- High Level Process Flow.
- Detail Process Step.
- PFMEA.
- Process Control Plan.
- SFWIs.
- F.A.T and C.A.T Procedure.
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and government standards.
- Training and mentoring production staff on new processes and equipment.
What we need from you:
- Degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in high-mix, low-volume VFD, MCC, Switchgear or heaving electrical equipment, or automotive industry in manufacturing engineering role.
- Intermediate AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN user.
- Experience in a fast-paced high-mix, low-volume manufacturing industry is an asset. In depth understanding of design standardization, configurable for custom products.
- Significant experience in DFM, DFX, including assembly sequences, work instructions, multi-level BOM.
- In depth knowledge of developing and setting up workflow for workstation IDs, manufacturing routes, manufacturing BOM and workorders, costed manufacturing BOMs, etc. in ERP system.
- Lean and Six-Sigma experience/certification is a strong asset.
- Experience using NetSuite would also be an asset
