The Technical (VFD) Sales Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Inside Sales Representatives and building a positive team environment. The Inside Sales Supervisor must establish and maintain procedures and controls to support a high transaction volume custom-order business. The Inside Sales Supervisor will lead a small team of inside sales representatives and deal directly with customers and suppliers, generating accurate quotations, sales orders, and returns that align with organizational sales targets.

The Inside Sales group works closely with Outside Sales to provide excellent customer service, prevent potential issues, and monitor ongoing projects.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead the Inside Sales Team and ensure all processes are followed and KPIs are met, through observation, assessment, and coaching.
  • Identify/develop new ideas to support the continuous improvement of the Inside Sales group.
  • Onboard new team members, assist with new team member check ins, conduct, or arrange specialized training sessions as required.
  • Lead weekly team meetings and provide performance reports/updates on team results as requested by leadership.
  • Organize and prioritize workload to provide maximum support to all team members
  • Participating fully in training sessions, meetings, skill-building and professional development classes.
  • Identifying decision makers amongst the targeted leads in order to start sales process.
  • Cooperating with sales representatives to determine essential strategic approaches for sales.
  • Maintaining and expanding the database of prospects of the organization.
  • Outbound and inbound account management.
  • Attending sales group meetings concerning sales targets or forecasts, reporting on market situation.
  • Handling cancellations or changes in sales order and communicating the changes with the related departments.
  • Coordinating with customer service for status on orders from related plant departments in ensuring the delivery commitment to clients is met.
  • Collating and consolidating reports on monthly sales performance per sales representative personnel, per product, per region or office, and per industry.
  • Providing effective product demos for end-user customers as well as for the resellers.
  • Emphasizing service or product features and benefits, discussing credit terms, quoting prices, and preparing sales order reports or forms.
  • Creating and delivering qualified leads to sales representatives.
  • Capturing of accurate and complete information in Customer Relationship Management system (CRM).

What we need from you:

  • 5 to 10 years of inside sales experience in an industrial business
  • Experience leading a small team or with direct reports
  • Knowledge of electrical apparatus is an asset: (AC and DC Motors, Variable Frequency Drives, Soft Starters, Motors, Controls)
  • Communication skills to deal with customers, employees, and vendors.
  • Positive attitude and ability to quickly adapt to change.
  • Highly organized, collaborative and detail-oriented.
  • Strong work ethic and high regard for customer service
  • Good understanding of the logistics/transportation industry
  • Strong computer skills and experience working within an ERP.
  • Confidence and proficiency in Microsoft Office:  Outlook, Word, Excel
