What you will be doing:

The Electrical Engineer works directly under our registered Engineer. As an Electrical Engineer, the candidate will perform electrical design and prototype assembly of the company’s products, including the production of supporting documentation for integration and assembly. You will also be responsible for sourcing and selecting components.

  • Design, specify, program and maintain machine control systems for Mitsubishi Electric and associated brand’s equipment
  • Draft and review electrical design drawings and technical specifications to support the systems – including electrical and fabrication drawings, control specifications, instrument diagrams, system safety and operation analysis.
  • Provide design and project status reports to Electrification Manager
  • Work closely with production team to conceptualize and create new and innovative systems for new products.
  • Coordinate with other members in the design and development team and ensure the integrated technology contribution to a project is in alignment with the entire company’s objectives
  • Provide high-value solutions to a variety of technical challenges
  • Interact with panel builders and suppliers of electrical parts to ensure quality and accuracy

What we need from you:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are essential.
  • Hands-on prototyping and troubleshooting skills and electrical installation safety
  • Knowledge of common industrial electrical hardware components
  • Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, electronic circuit design and development
  • Basic knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code and its application
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrate understanding of office productivity software (Electrical CAD Software, MS Office, MS Project, etc)
  • PLC Programming experience is an asset
  • A degree in electrical engineering and eligibility for a professional engineering designation
  • 2 years+ experience in industrial electrical design, installing, commissioning, and troubleshooting industrial control panels and equipment.
  • Experience in electrical schematics in AutoCAD Electrical is an asset
